Equipment Services: 1, 4, 5, 8, 9,14, 21, 95, 96, 97.
Equipment Repairs: # 5 – two new tires from inventory, # 9 – tune-up, # 14 – rear brakes replaced, # 21 – Replace one boom to arm hyd. hose, replace pins and bushings to bucket and arm to boom pins and bushings, # 22- replace one boom to arm hyd. hose and o-ring for hyd. cyl. connector, minor welding on arm, # 48 – replace batteries (warranty), repair injector pump leak, replace power steer pump and replace motor mounts, # 68 – replace mud flaps, # 71 – replace left-hand door glass and latch rod, thermostat, gasket and radiator cap, # 86 – mount new oak floor, # 96 – replace return flow reservoir and four new traction tires, # 97 replace mud flaps and minor bed welding.
May Maintenance
Storage Canal : The rated section has been cleaned in front of for more accurate readings as was the cippoletti weir at Gageby.
LaJunta Division : Cleaned weirs several times and hauled off excess sand. Some repair work on rock checks and rock work on a few gates is finished. Some bogs and weeds will be dealt with in the next few weeks. Service road blading will begin in the next few days throughout the division. Without moisture blading has been very limited-roads are rough in spots.
LasAnimas Division : The crew has cleaned weirs and hauled sand away. A tree near Cr 16 was removed from the ditch. Several gates have had problems plugging up with weeds and trash. Blading is on-going throughout the division. Weed bogs will have to be dealt with in the next few weeks
Limestone Division : Weir cleaning has taken place and will be again within the next few days. Service road blading is becoming a necessity in spots. Weed bogs will have to be dealt with before snow melt begins. Weed spraying will also commence in the near future.
Lamar Division : Rock has been hauled to shore up banks near SH 287 and from Shoaf’s bridge to Columbine. Road base was also hauled in and spread in those areas. Weirs have been cleaned almost every run – lots of sand. From Coen lateral back to the Basin inlet has been cleaned of sand. Attempts to clean back up to the Smith are also being made. Some trees at Gale Temples have had to be dealt with. The Basin inlet is currently being cleaned. Fire bans are making us have to dip the weeds. New threaded stem, collars and lift nuts have been put on the basin outlet gates. Rock below Gate 245 check is being laid in on both sides to curb washing the banks. Currently, hauling road base from the basin inlet to Cr SS. Water : Blue is nearing 40,000 a.f. as of 5/5/08. No rain and no signs of snowmelt is becoming a scary scenario. Project water may be a savior. There will be much more available than last year. (near 20,000 a.f. vs 8500 a.f.).
